Is hypoalbuminemia a predictor for mortality in Tracheostomized patients transferred from intensive care unit to palliative service?

Objective: Tracheostomy is a bedside surgical procedure that frequently performed in intensive care units. It allows patients who need long-term mechanical ventilator to be transferred from through home-type ventilator. In this study, we aimed evaluate the relationship between serum albumin levels before hospitalization and discharge or exitus mortality were palliative service with home type by opening tracheostomy unit. Material-Method: 110 unit 01/05/2018-11/05/2021 analyzed retrospectively. Patients' age, gender, diagnosis of (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) / malignancy), presence comorbidity, number days (on which day was opened admission), Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) severity scores (Acute Physiology Chronic Health Evaluation Score (APACHE II), Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA), (g/dl) values, recent values those had examined Results: The study's results showed 28-day relation old age statistically significant. There significant high SOFA score at admission mortality. no difference comorbidity COPD malignancy hospitalization, GCS, APACHE II showing score, value low discharge/decease rate 28 days. Conclusion: analysis it observed increased tracheostomized addition, level discharge/death also increases
